February 2015, a mid-year membership update on the Skyline Booster Club:

Thank you for joining the Skyline Booster Club for the 2014-2015 school year. Your Booster Club membership dollars and donations to the clubs and teams help support ALL student clubs, sports, and activities at Skyline High School. The Booster Club raises funds through yearly membership, concession sales, merchandise sales and our annual holiday bazaar to support all extracurricular activities, including athletic teams, ASB clubs, music and drama at Skyline High School. Here’s an update of what’s happened so far this year:

Membership in the Booster Club currently sits at over 265 families which is about a 20% increase over 2013-2014 school year. This fall, Booster Club sold almost $20,000 in Skyline Spirit gear and we love seeing that spirit gear out in the community! Did you know you can now purchase Skyline Spirit Gear through the Booster Club website at: http://www.skylineboosterclub.com/gear.html The Booster Club also raised money through the concession stand during football season and the proceeds were donated back to the teams and clubs whose parents volunteered. In the next year the Skyline Booster Club plans to launch a new website, publish a Skyline all school clubs and teams media guide, award grants, and are looking forward to once again hosting the concessions in the new Skyline stadium next fall. If you would like to become involved please contact us: http://www.skylineboosterclub.com/contact.html

The Booster Club Board is now led by President Kathy Baril. Kathy is excited to work with current executive board members Deb Smith, Secretary, and Barbara Ecola, Membership, and has appointed Gretchen Carpenter as the new Skyline Booster Club Treasurer. To facilitate the transition to the club’s new treasurer, a financial review was performed. The Financial Review Committee is currently completing the review and reconciling the teams and clubs account funds. In addition, the Board is updating our Bylaws and operating procedures so the club follows the standards recommended by the National Booster Club Association, as well as good practice standards from the well-established Washington State PTA organization, and state guidelines for non-profit organizations.

The Skyline Booster Club looks forward to continuing to serve the Skyline community. Please join us and meet the Board at the next General Membership meeting on Monday, March 9, 2015, from 7-8:30pm held in the Skyline High School Upper Commons.

Thank you for your continued support of the Skyline Booster Club
